Bespoke Tastings

At Dramatic Drams, not only do we provide tasting packs delivered straight to your door, but we’ll send ourselves out to you as well.

If you have a special event coming up and want to add a very special touch, consider asking us to run a highly personalised whisky tasting just for you and your friends, family or colleagues.

Perfect for in-house corporate events, saying thank you to special clients, adding class to a birthday party or bucks night, or just getting a group of friends together to learn more about whisky.

”The Whisky Welcome”
This tasting class is all about an introduction for those who are keen to learn more about the possibilities out there in the world of whisky. It caters for relative newcomers, recreational drinkers who don’t stray far from their favourites, and people who have never drunk whisky before. We guarantee there is something for absolutely everyone.
Our whisky specialist will take you through a bit about the history, distilling process, regions, and of course everything about tasting – flavours to find, glasses to use, and how to drink it. There are no wrong questions and no wrong answers, this is about a bit of learning and a lot of fun.
Depending on which ones are chosen, there will be between five and seven different whiskies.
Included: all whiskies, all glassware, matched cheese pairing, and an experienced whisky guide with a history of conducting tastings for young people.
Cost: $60 per person.
Conditions: Minimum of 4 participants required for a booking. Please allow 2 hours. All participants must be above the age of 18.

“The Round Trip”
This tasting class is for those who are curious about what the world outside of Scotland has to offer. Countries as diverse as India, Sweden, France, Japan and Taiwan have been producing some excellent whisky in the last few decades particularly, in addition to Scotland, America and Ireland which have been crafting it for centuries.
Newcomers to whisky will have the door opened to how versatile the drink can be, and the most veteran scotch drinker will have their eyes opened too. The only thing that’s certain is that those who take this class will never think all good whisky is Scottish again.
Depending on which ones are chosen, there will be between five and seven different whiskies, from a minimum of four different countries.
Included: all whiskies, all glassware, matched cheese pairing, and an experienced whisky guide.
Cost: $80 per person.
Conditions: Minimum of 4 participants required for a booking. Please allow 2 hours. All participants must be above the age of 18.

“The Spirited Isle”
This tasting class is for anyone interested in learning about Australian – and mainly Tasmanian – whisky. For years, Tasmania in particular has been dominating the world whisky stage winning countless awards. The distilleries are all unique, with a huge variety of flavours, and the products can be hard to find because of limited quantity and export.
Australians and visitors alike will love the whiskies presented and the focus will be on how whisky made in the southern hemisphere differs from the rest of the world. There will be a virtual tour of Tasmanian distilleries and some of the special features that allow such special flavours.
Depending on which ones are chosen, there will be between five and seven different whiskies, most from Australia with a minimum of three from Tasmania.
Included: all whiskies, all glassware, matched Australian cheese pairing, and an experienced whisky guide with an intimate knowledge of Tasmanian whisky production.
Cost: $100 per person.
Conditions: Minimum of 6 participants required for a booking. Please allow 2 hours. All participants must be above the age of 18.

“The Seasoned Sampler”
This tasting class is for the veteran whisky drinker who keeps their eyes open for different batches and bottle numbers, and the phrase “limited release” from a favourite distillery really peaks their interest. In an environment where most distilleries aim of uniformity, when a Mater Distiller can’t resist bottling a single cask, that is a good sign something has gone right.
Distilleries usually submit one bottle to awards competitions and it is judged on that barrel alone. If you want to see what difference it can make, and whether the hype is really worth it, the only way to know is to have a whisky specialist take you through it.
Depending on which ones are chosen, there will be between five and seven different whiskies, most with a unique barrel and bottle identifier.
Included: all whiskies, all glassware, matched cheese pairing, and an experienced whisky guide.
Cost: $120 per person.
Conditions: Minimum of 8 participants required for a booking. Please allow 2.5 hours. All participants must be above the age of 18.

“The Master Tailor”
This tasting class allows the participant to customize a tasting for their exact requirements. If there is a distillery or a flavor you love and want to try again – or haven’t tried and want experience – we can make it happen. Our whisky specialist will be up to the challenge and will work with the participants to provide a truly bespoke class.
The class can be run for any group size, from a father/son experience to a whole conference. We can cater for any flavor palate, from a bit of everything to intense peat or sherry only. While we will make suggestions and offer some guidance, the tasting is entirely up to the drinkers.
Included: all whiskies, all glassware, matched cheese pairing, a pre-tasting consultation to help shape your class exactly as you want it (includes the quote), and an experienced whisky guide.
Cost: Starting from $60 per person. Will be determined following your consultation.
Conditions: Minimum of 2 participants required for a booking. Time required can be tailored to participants’ requirements. All participants must be above the age of 18.

We can host tastings in Melbourne seven days a week, and on weekends in Hobart and Sydney on request. All bookings are subject to availability.
